A simple method you can repeat

We want a repeatable test, not lab‑grade perfection. Use our app in Main Mode. Choose a medium radius and tempo of 2.5 seconds per circle. Draw five exam circles on each device—phone, tablet (stylus), and desktop/laptop (mouse). Rest 15–20 seconds between reps. Repeat the procedure a second time later in the day and average the two sessions.

Metrics to log and compare

  • Roundness – consistency of radius; the biggest driver of perceived quality.
  • Centering – how close the fitted center is to the golden dot.
  • Closure – how well the end blends into the start without a seam.
  • Notes – fatigue, friction, and anything unusual about the session.

What typical results look like

Stylus tablets often produce the best early roundness thanks to friction and analog control. Mice can match tablets after a few days when motion comes from elbow and shoulder. Phones trail slightly at very small radii but catch up at medium radii with a matte protector. Individual results vary—your technique dominates the outcome.

How to improve each device

  • Phone/Tablet: Add a matte protector, zoom slightly, and train centering with Crosshair and Grid Glide.
  • Mouse: Reduce pointer acceleration, increase pointer precision, and draw from elbow/shoulder. Use a desk mat.
  • Stylus tablet: Keep tempo steady; avoid over‑tight grips that introduce jitter.

Limitations and best practices

Benchmarks are only as good as their consistency. Keep radius and tempo identical across devices, rest between reps, and avoid comparing tired evening results to fresh morning results. The goal isn’t to crown a universal winner; it’s to pick the setup that helps you learn fastest right now, then rotate devices to generalize skill.
